Day #5
Breakfast: Two hard-boiled eggs
Lunch: Mac and cheese
Dinner: tbd
Scott wanted me to exonerate him from the accusation I posted yesterday… he was indeed snacking on the cheese, but there was a sufficient amount left over for our mac and cheese dinner.
By the way, the mac and cheese recipe came from a cool site I found while searching for low budget meal ideas. It’s called Not Eating Out in New York. (Of course, we couldn’t afford the chorizo, so we went with the remaining ground beef instead.)
I like the way Cathy seems to be approaching her blog… it’s useful, she has a mission statement, and her posts have some personality. The posts are also short or long if you want to read more, and there are pictures!
I mentioned earlier this week that I’d like to write a mission statement for this blog. I’m still thinking about that one. I’m not sure what I think people could get out of reading this (beyond family and friends that is, who may read this just to keep up with my ongoings. Oh and Scott is required to read this because he is my hub-o.)
I need to think more about what I like about the blogs I currently read… There are a number of them that I keep up on solely because I like the personalities of the bloggers. They don’t really have a theme/purpose, although I think I stumbled on most of them because they are crafty in some way. But the majority of their posts highlight random interesting things they do… everyday, unique things that they come up with themselves. Or they add some kind of value to something that they found in another blog or on the internet. I don’t know any of them in person, but I feel like I do, or would want to. I’ve read some of them for… I don’t even know how long. Since college?
It’s easier for me to list things I don’t like about blogs… I’ve had a couple of nasty blog breakups. The worst is when the blogger gets sucked into the blogosphre. They becoming disconnected with anything other than blogging. Their blogs become blogger soap operas with other bloggers as leading characters. And their posts turn into a huge string of “to be continued” episodes.
Other issues I have with blogs can generally be ignored… but eventually cause me to stop reading. One of which is the posts are too long, which means I should stop ranting now. I’ll write more about this later…
